Rachel Bilson, Kaitlin Doubleday Join 'Nashville'
In the wake of Nashville," the drama is adding alums from "The O.C." and "Empire" to the cast.
Variety reports that Rachel Bilson and Kaitlin Doubleday (Rhonda Lyon on "Empire") will first appear in the second half of Season 5.
"We welcome Rachel and Kaitlin into our incredibly talented ensemble," said executive producer and showrunner, Marshall Herskovitz. "We fondly anticipate the second half of the season filled with surprising twists and turns that make 'Nashville' so beloved by the fans."
The two actresses roles have not yet revealed, but their Instagram posts have given a few clues. Bilson posted a photo of record label Highway 65, saying, "Music city, here I come," indicating she might be playing a record exec.
Doubleday hinted that she'll be playing an aspiring singer by sharing a photo of the Bluebird Cafe to her Instagram, saying "This will definitely be a change of pace!"
Meanwhile, the series' regulars are dealing with the aftermath of the plane crash in a teaser for upcoming episodes. A date has not yet been announced for the midseason premiere.
