Robert Downey Jr is still the Iron Man among Hollywood's inflated bank accounts. The 50-year-old action star has been named by Forbes as the highest-paid actor for the third consecutive year, raking in an impressive $80 million.

Downey's only film released in 2015 was a reprisal of his Iron Man role in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," and last year he returned to drama as an attorney in "The Judge," and had a supporting role in the comedy "Chef."

To date, the "Avengers" sequel has earned nearly $1.4 billion worldwide.

He bested Jackie Chan, who ranks No. 2 with $50 million; Vin Diesel at No. 3, $47 million; Bradley Cooper at No. 4, $41.5 million; Adam Sandler at No. 5, $41 million; and Tom Cruise at No. 6, $40 million.
