New 'Live' Co-Host: Ryan Seacrest Fills Vacant Seat Next to Kelly Ripa
"Live" co-host again: veteran TV host and producer Ryan Seacrest.
Following the April 2016 departure of her former co-host Michael Strahan, Ripa had a revolving door of guest hosts, including Seacrest. Meanwhile, the now-former "American Idol" host's gig wrapped around the same time when the Fox singing competition series ended, freeing up some room in his schedule. As we can see now, he ultimately decided to fill it with a morning talk show.
The decision remained a secret until Monday when Seacrest joined Ripa on what is now "Live with Kelly & Ryan." After teasing that she would be introducing her new co-host, Ripa came out with Seacrest, and the duo showed off their new marquee and greeted the enthusiastic audience before he finally got to claim his chair and jump right into the job.
Ripa tweeted out a video of their grand entrance.

It looks like we'll have to call Seacrest the hardest working man in New York City instead of Hollywood now.
