Sara Ramirez Won't Return for Arizona's 'Grey's Anatomy' Exit
As "Grey's Anatomy" fans prepare to say goodbye to two major characters on tonight's season 14 finale, some thought that one exit in particular might make way for a cameo from another doctor who'd previously departed Grey Sloan Memorial. Sadly, the actress who plays the character in question has made it clear that that return isn't going to happen.
In an exchange with a fan on Twitter, Sara Ramirez said that she would not be appearing on the episode.
I'm actually not, but I continue to wish the entire #GreysAnatomy family all the best!

"I'm actually not [in the finale]," the actress tweeted, "but I continue to wish the entire #GreysAnatomy family all the best!"
Ramirez played Dr. Callie Torres on "Grey's" for 10 seasons, departing the show at the end of season 12. Her character dated Dr. Arizona Robbins (played by Jessica Capshaw), who along with Dr. April Kepner (Sarah Drew) is also set to say farewell to the drama.
In an interview last year, the actress said that she was still on good terms with the "Grey's" team and creator Shonda Rhimes, and was "open" to appearing on the show again in the future. So even though it's not happening now, there's still a chance it could happen someday. (And since Arizona probably isn't getting killed off, maybe they can reunite during that hypothetical episode instead? Hey, we can dream.)
The season 14 finale of "Grey's Anatomy" airs tonight on ABC.
