Two ships, one fight for the future.

CBS All-Access released a new trailer for "Star Trek: Discovery" Season 2, which teams up the titular ship's crew with the USS Enterprise. Now, this is the Enterprise of yore, led by Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) and the young Vulcan officer Spock (Ethan Peck).

They join the Discovery in a dangerous new battle involving the Red Angel, a being that foretold the end all sentient life in the galaxy.

The new mission brings together adopted siblings Spock and Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green), who clearly have a contentious relationship.

Into the tense mix come Philippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh), now a covert ops officer, and Ash Tyler (Shazad Latif), who was revealed to be the former Klingon Voq.

"Star Trek: Discovery" Season 2 premieres January 17 on CBS All-Access.
