'Stranger Things' Deals With Much Different Problems in the Bad Lip Reading Version
The third season of "Stranger Things" is not likely to premiere until 2019, so we need other ways to get our fix. Fortunately, Bad Lip Reading has given us one activity to help tide us over.
The YouTube channel's latest video gives the popular show the overdubbing treatment, completely changing the story and even its feel by replacing the characters' lines with new ones that still match up with their mouth movements. "Love" star Gillian Jacobs helps make it happen, taking over the voice of Nancy Wheeler. As a result, "Stranger Things" goes from being an '80s-inspired sci-fi horror series to more of a comedy-drama -- and a very strange one at that.
In the video, the familiar characters have new interests, struggles, and goals. Wheeler family dinners become discussions about talent shows and tattoos, for example. Additionally, the boys rehearse a one-act play and get into trouble in new ways. It's Hawkins like you've never seen it before.
Watch the video below; it's 18 minutes long, so you'll have to be prepared to devote some time to it.
Seasons 1 and 2 of the real "Stranger Things" are available on Netflix.
