'Stranger Things' Honest Trailer Points out Weird Similarities to 'The Hangover'
What does a group of kids from Hawkins, Indiana, have in common with a group of groomsmen visiting Las Vegas? More than you'd think.
Screen Junkies' Honest Trailers series took on "Stranger Things" in its latest video, released Tuesday. Among its many gems is a surprisingly fitting comparison that likens the hit Netflix series to an unexpected film; the narrator describes the show as "the cutest version of 'The Hangover' you've ever seen."
It really does work, and the video explains why: Both the movie and the show include a character who goes missing, one missing teeth, one who is "cool and skeptical," and another who is "a dangerous liability to the group." The narrator didn't mention this, but both have a lot of flashing lights, too.
The video brings us through Season 1 with its usual mockery, but it also highlights the things we love about the show, such as the "tight story," awesome cast, and amped up nostalgia. Watch below.
"Stranger Things" Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
