'Suits' Creator Says Meghan Markle Very Unlikely to Return for Series Finale
The Duchess of Sussex won't be suiting up again.
After TNT"s "Suits" was renewed for a ninth and final season, fans wondered if former star Meghan Markle might make an appearance in the series finale. Sadly, the answer is: Almost definitely no.
“I would love it, but I think it’s pretty close to zero,” said series creator Aaron Korsh.
Markle played Rachel Zane for seven seasons before departing the show (and acting) to marry Prince Harry last May. She is currently pregnant with their first child.
Korsh added the show is “not currently pursuing asking Meghan to leave her position with the royal family and join us.”
However, Markle's longtime screen partner, Patrick J. Adams, could pop up. Adams played Mike Ross, the brilliant protege of Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht). He exited the show at the same time as Markle, after Mike and Rachel got married. The newlyweds then moved to the West Coast to take on new jobs.
Korsh said, “I had discussed with Patrick, when he left, the possibility of coming back, and we both decided if the time was right, and he was up for it, and he had the time, that we would do it."
