Supergirl's family keeps changing!

"Supergirl" Season 3, Episode 6, called "Midvale," will send Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Alex (Chyler Leigh) on a road trip to their hometown (also named Midvale), "where they will relive a murder mystery from high school that shaped their relationship as we know it."

For the flashback, Entertainment Weekly says high school-age Kara will now be played by Izabela Vidovic ("The Fosters") in a recast of the young Kara role previously played by Malina Weissman. According to TVLine, young Alex will be played by Olivia Nikkanen ("The Americans"). Young Alex was previously played by Jordan Mazarati.

TVLine shared this photo off the new teen Alex on the left, and Kara on the right:Yes, the hair and eye colors don't seem to be right for the characters, but that's the beauty of the hair and makeup department.

Melissa Benoist told EW, "You'll get to see, through the way they interact, how their relationship started when Kara first came to Earth, how it grew, how it became so close and why they're so close nowadays."

"Supergirl" Season 3 previously announced that Kara's mother was being recast, with Erica Durance taking over the role Laura Benanti previously played on The CW show.

"Supergirl" Season 3 starts Monday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
