Taylor Kitsch was born on April 8, 1981, in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada.
2. Humble Beginnings
Taylor and his brothers were raised by his single mom, Susan, in a trailer park.

The actor played hockey for years and joined the BCHL's Langley Hornets until a bad knee injury ended his athletic career.
4. Tough Times
Kitsch has revealed that there was a time when he was homeless on the streets of New York City for a number of weeks before getting on his feet. He later lived in his car for months in Los Angeles prior to hitting it big.

Taylor took modeling gigs for brands like Abercrombie & Fitch and Diesel.
6. Rocky Start
Taylor told EW that he was so terrible in one of his first auditions during pilot season, that he actually had to stop and admit how bad he was doing. He also had to embarrassingly ask to start over.
7. Clear Eyes, Full Heart
Taylor auditioned for the role that made him famous, Tim Riggins in "Friday Night Lights," on tape. He told The Daily Beast how he got into it, revealing, "I found Texan beers, a cooler, and had the long hair." Despite the Canadian accent, he nailed down the part.

Even though "Friday Night Lights" ended in 2011, that doesn't mean Taylor left the Lone Star State for good. He bought land in Austin and built a home there.
