  • Taylor Swift has announced a video-on-demand date for ‘The Eras Tour’ concert movie.
  • The home entertainment version will include additional song footage.
  • ‘The Eras Tour’ has earned more than $178 million in the United States.

It has been a banner few months for Taylor Swift fans, in between the wildly successful Eras Tour and new releases of old albums retooled to bring them back into Swift’s ownership.

And, of course, there was the cinematic release of ‘The Eras Tour’, the eponymous concert film that gave those unable to get tickets to the live version a chance to enjoy the tour –– at least, in edited form.

Should any Swifties have not made it to theaters to see the movie (and its box office suggest many did), then there is more good news –– ‘The Eras Tour’ is about to hit its video on demand home entertainment stage.

The multi-award-winning singer-songwriter hit social media to make the announcement for the video-on-demand release of the concert movie. And it’ll happen, in keeping with her numerical preferences, on her birthday…

The on demand version will feature an expanded set list from the 169-minute theatrical version, as guessed by fans.

Yet Even with “Wildest Dreams,” “The Archer” and “Long Live” added, it still won’t include every song Swift performed on most or many of the tour dates.

“Cardigan” is the only set standby still apparently unaccounted for, while “No Body No Crime,” which did not figure into the entire tour but was performed by Swift with Haim at the shows in August that were filmed at L.A.’s SoFi Stadium remains MIA.

What is the Eras Tour?

The tour, which as the title suggests sees the singer/songwriter performing music from her various career “eras”, has been a massive triumph. The concert was attended by more than three million Swifties during the first leg of its U.S. run.

Not only did it shatter all concert sales records, but it also left tens of millions of fans wanting more, either because they attended the concert and wanted to see it again, or after being unable to obtain tickets for sold out performance after sold out performance.

While the first leg in the States concluded last month, Swift has also just finished playing South America, with further dates planned for the tour, including Europe and more next year.

The movie has grossed $178 million in the United States, as of this past weekend, setting a record for a concert film many times over.
