'The Blacklist' Star Apologizes for Helping to Glorify Assault Rifles
"Liz Keen will never carry an assault rifle again."
"The Blacklist." She grew up in The Villages in Florida, and -- like most of us -- was shocked and horrified by the February 14 school shooting in Parkland, FL. The killer used an AR-15 style semi-automatic rifle to kill 17 people, injuring 14 more.
In response to still another mass shooting, the U.S. gun control debate was revived. Boone jumped into the mix to reveal that her character would no longer be using an assault rifle on the show:
Liz Keen will never carry an assault rifle again and I am deeply sorry for participating in glorifying them in the past. Yours, girl from Florida

She then responded to a fan's question:
As an FBI agent. It's pretty standard.. especially on raids is it not?

Boone also retweeted another fan's support:
My 13 year old's response:
Is that because of the shootings?
Me: Yes.
13 yr old son: Oh wow, that is really respectful!
Thank You so much Megan Boone!
