There will be hours of TV centered on the JonBenét Ramsey case as the 20th anniversary of her horrific murder draws closer, but the total has recently dropped by at least two hours.

As it turns out, the upcoming true-crime special "The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey" on CBS won't be quite as long as planned. With production wrapping earlier in September, network execs and the miniseries' producers reviewed the material and decided the project would work better with two two-hour parts instead of three, according to Variety. The series is now being edited from four hours to six.

Don't worry, though: Based on the story itself -- a 6-year-old beauty queen found dead in her home on Christmas Day and an investigation that turned up no guilty party despite multiple suspects (including her family) -- and the haunting trailer released last month, there will be plenty to keep the four hours interesting. "The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey" brings together both new experts and the original investigators to revisit the unsolved case.

The miniseries will still premiere as planned on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 8:30 p.m. ET, and then continue on Monday, Sept. 19 at 9:00 p.m. ET. The only change to your plans will be finding something else to watch on Sunday, Sept. 25. One option to consider is the expanded, two-hour premiere of "NCIS: Los Angeles," which will fill the spot left vacant by the now non-existent third part of "The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey."
