'The Crown' Season 3 Casts New Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Queen Mother

Welcome to the royal family! Buckle up.

"The Crown" Season 3 is now filming with Olivia Colman as the new crown-wearing Queen Elizabeth II. The entire royal lineup has been recast with older actors to represent the later timeline in history. This was always the plan after the first two seasons, as much as it pains us to lose the OG crew.

We've already seen first looks at Colman as QEII, plus Helena Bonham Carter as her sister Princess Margaret, and Ben Daniels as Margaret's husband, Lord Snowden.

Netflix just introduced three new stars for Season 3, although without official show photos at this point.

Erin Doherty will play Princess Anne, Josh O’Connor will play Prince Charles, and Marion Bailey will play the Queen Mother (replacing Victoria Hamilton):

In Season 2, Prince Charles was played by two actors -- young Billy Jenkins, and then Julian Baring for Charles' tough times at school.

Season 3 is meant to cover 1964-1976, putting Charles in his late teens and 20s. Charles met his future wife Diana Spencer in 1977, when he was dating her older sister Sarah. So we may just miss that meeting this season.

That said, the producers confirmed Princess Diana WILL be introduced toward the end of Season 3, and will be featured heavily in Season 4 (and presumably Season 5).

Princess Anne was born two years after Charles in 1950, so we'll be seeing her teens and 20s as well.
