The CW's First 'Dynasty' Trailer Is Overflowing With Family Drama
The CW's "Dynasty" reboot isn't skimping on drama.
The network released the first trailer for the upcoming series Thursday, and it proves that the show won't shy away from its '80s soap opera roots. As we can see, the new version clearly isn't afraid to get a little (or a lot) melodramatic; the preview shows secret affairs, contentious family dynamics, betrayal, and more.
"Dynasty" centers on the uber-wealthy Carringtons, their business empire, and their feud with another family, the Colbys. The trailer especially spotlights the contentious relationship between daughter Fallon Carrington (Elizabeth Gillies) and her stepmother, Cristal Flores (Nathalie Kelley). There's clearly no love lost between them -- they literally come to blows in the preview.
The soap comes from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, both of whom worked on "Gossip Girl" and "The OC." Let's hope they've created a similarly addicting series with "Dynasty." See what you think below.
"Dynasty" premieres this fall on The CW.
