'The Defenders' Comic-Con Trailer: These Guys Didn't Come Here to Make Superfriends
Usually it's the reality TV villain who "didn't come here to make friends," but sometimes that's even true of superheroes.
The latest trailer for "Marvel's The Defenders," released on Friday during San Diego Comic-Con, reveals a band of heroes that looks pretty reluctant to be working together. Even though Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), and Danny Rand (Finn Jones) all have unique abilities, they aren't exactly eager to become a team. Cage says it best, telling the other three, "I'm not looking for superfriends."
The first minute of the trailer is kind of a will-they-won't-they tease, but -- shocker! -- they do join forces. As we see in the preview, the four of them are "the only thing keeping Manhattan from crumbling to a pile of dust." Those are some high stakes.
The series follows four other Marvel series for Netflix, each headlined by one of the Defenders -- "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones," "Luke Cage," and "Iron Fist." "Marvel's The Defenders" hits Netflix on Aug. 18.
