'The Four' Judge Charlie Walk Exits Finale After Sexual Harassment Allegations
"The Four: Battle for Stardom" judge and record company executive Charlie Walk won't appear on the February 8 finale.
After two women came forward with claims of sexual harassment, Walk was suspended by his Universal Music Group label Republic Records. Walk still appeared on the pre-taped episode of "The Four" airing Thursday, February 1 on FOX, but he got ahead of the situation by basically pulling a Casey Affleck and removing himself from the finale conversation.
Here's the statement Walk's attorney shared to Deadline on his behalf:
"Out of respect for the contestants, my fellow judges and everyone involved with the show, I have made the decision not to attend the finale of The Four. I do not want my presence to be a distraction. Needless to say this is very upsetting. Although I continue to support the 'Me Too' movement, there has been an extreme rush to judgment against me in this particular case which is unfair and inconsistent with anything that even actually happened. I welcome any investigation so that in short order these unfounded and hurtful accusations can be put to rest."
Walk judges the singing show with Sean "Diddy" Combs, DJ Khaled, and Meghan Trainor. The winner announced on the Feb. 8 finale will still be rewarded a record deal with Republic Records, in addition to career guidance from Combs, Khaled, and Trainor.
"The Four" Season 1 finale, hosted by Fergie, airs Thursday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. on FOX.
