'The Hills' Is Getting a 'New Beginnings' Reboot on MTV
"The Hills" are alive with the sound of drama again!
Last night at the MTV Video Music Awards, some of the stars of the MTV reality series reunited on the red carpet: Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Jason Wahler, Frankie Delgado, Justin Bobby Brescia and Stephanie Pratt.
Their appearance served as a teaser for a reboot of the series called "The Hills: New Beginnings," which will bring back original cast members, along with their children, significant others, and friends and follow their personal and professional lives in Los Angeles. It is scheduled to premiere in 2019.
In the first teaser, Stephanie notes, "It’s like we’re all growing up. It’s weird.”
"The Hills" was a spinoff of "Laguna Beach" and ran from 2006-2010.
Conspicuously absent from the red carpet and teaser were original "The Hills" lead Lauren Conrad and her onetime nemesis, Kristin Cavallari, who replaced her as the lead in the final season of the show. Both have previously indicated they would be interested in a "Hills" reunion.
Conrad is now a successful clothing designer and author and welcomed her first child with husband William Tell last year. Cavallari now stars in her own E! reality show "Very Cavallari," which follows her opening a boutique in Nashville and juggling life with husband Jay Cutler and their children.
MTV found success earlier this year by rebooting one of its most famous franchises, "Jersey Shore."
