'The Legend of Conan' Will Be a Sequel to Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1982 Movie
The Conan the Barbarian we all knew and loved will be back, as himself, in all his glory.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is reviving his acting career this summer by stepping into one of his most iconic roles in "Terminator: Genisys." After that, he'll reprise another oldie but goodie in "Legend of Conan."
In an interview with fan site TheArnoldFans.com, producer Fredrik Malmberg and producer/writer Chris Morgan ("Fast and Furious) revealed some details about the sequel to the 1982 classic "Conan the Barbarian." And yes, they confirmed it will be a sequel — not a reboot or retelling.
Asked if "Legend of Conan" would be "light-hearted," Malmberg said, "CROM! No. Our tone is a logical extension of the character established in the '82 film ... but 30 years later. When we meet him again, Conan has been many things over the course of his life — a thief, a warrior, a pirate, a king, a legend — and is now an older man. Think 'Unforgiven' ... with a sword-wielding barbarian."
Morgan also teased that "at least three" characters from the original would appear in the sequel. "And you're gonna love them!"
