If tonight's season finale of "The Purge" ends on a cliffhanger, don't sweat it. USA just announced the show is coming back for a second season.

"The Purge" has become the network's top-rated drama since premiering in early September. The series, which follows different people either seizing the opportunity to change their destiny or just stay alive on Purge Night, takes place between the events in the films "The First Purge" and "The Purge: Election Year."

The announcement didn't indicate whether we'll be following the same characters from Season 1 or a new set of purgers.

Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment said, "We look forward to digging even deeper into the mythology in Season 2."

Jason Blum, founder of production company Blumhouse, announced, "We are thrilled to embark on Season 2, and can’t wait to bring more of James’ vision to USA and fans of 'The Purge'."

On Twitter, the official account promised that Season 2 will be "bigger than ever before." We assume that also means "bloodier."

Actor Gabriel Chavarria (Miguel Guerrero) shared the good news on Instagram. Does that means he survives tonight's mayhem?

The Season 1 finale airs tonight (which just happens to be an election night) on USA at 10/9c.
