'Royals' Star Alexandra Park Responds to 'One Tree Hill' Cast and Crew's Mark Schwahn Allegations
The women of "One Tree Hill" have inspired Alexandra Park to speak up.
As a "Royals" star, Park has worked on the E! show with Mark Schwahn, the "One Tree Hill" creator multiple women jointly accused of sexual harassment on Monday. In total, 18 of the CW drama's former cast and crew members signed an open letter alleging various forms of misconduct from Schwahn. Now, Park is adding her voice, commending the people who have already spoken out and adding her own experience.
"I have a responsibility as someone who was working under Mark Schwahn on 'The Royals' to acknowledge these claims," she wrote in a statement she posted to Twitter Wednesday. "I am devastated to admit to myself, to my colleagues and to this industry that I, too, have been exposed to this reprehensible behavior."

Park didn't describe any specific instances of alleged misconduct; instead, she focused largely on her hope that the industry and attitudes are changing, calling it a journey that she sees leading to a "new normal." She also thanked the studio and network for "being [her] partner in this conflict." Schwahn has been suspended by E!, Universal Cable Productions, and Lionsgate Television while they investigate the matter, as the studios told Variety.
"The Royals" is scheduled to return for its fourth season on Feb. 16.
