Did 'The Voice' and 'Dancing With the Stars' Name the Right Winners?
Both "The Voice" Season 10 and "Dancing With the Stars" Season 22 held their spring 2016 finales last night, and both crowned winners who were simultaneously breakthrough and expected.
DWTS Season 22 gave the win to Nyle DiMarco and his pro partner Peta Murgatroyd (whose pregnancy was just announced). Nyle won the most recent season of "America's Next Top Model," and became the first deaf winner. When the DWTS premiere episode showed he could dance that well (and look that hot) without hearing any of the music, or having any previous dance training, he was immediately the frontrunner to win.
So DWTS has its first deaf winner and a totally expected win at the same time. UFC fighter Paige VanZant was declared the best overall dancer of the season, but that was also pretty expected since she admitted she grew up dancing. Ginger Zee of "Good Morning America," who also had some previous dance experience, took third.
Meanwhile, over on "The Voice," the win went to Alisan Porter, who wowed the coaches in her blind audition even before they realized she was the little girl from the 1991 film "Curly Sue." Her voice and comeback story immediately gave her frontrunner status, and her win last night wasn't terribly unexpected (although Adam Wakefield fans aren't happy). At the same time, it marked a breakthrough after 10 seasons of the show in that it was the first time a female coach won "The Voice." So congrats to Christina Aguilera as well. Adam Wakefiled (of Team Blake) took second place, with Hannah Huston (Team Pharrell) in third, and Laith Al-Saadi (Team Adam) in fourth.

Are you happy with the winners? If not, who should've won?
