Tom Hanks may be taking a cue from noted kook and random event-crasher Bill Murray, after the Oscar winner crashed a couple's wedding photo session over the weekend. But in true Hanks fashion, the actor couldn't have been nicer about it.

The surreal moment happened when photographer Meg Miller was taking snaps of newlyweds Elisabeth and Ryan in New York City's Central Park, when she noticed a runner about to cross their path. Miller explained to The Huffington Post that she paused the picture-taking to let the man pass, only to have him approach the couple, and introduce himself, "Hi, I'm Tom Hanks."

Here's how the photographer described the encounter:

According to Miller, he then proceeded to shake hands, kissed the bride's hand and wished the pair congratulations ― even offering up a few wedding services of his own.

"He asked if they needed a wedding officiant, because he is an ordained minister," she said with a laugh.

Hanks took a selfie with the couple -- which he posted on his Instagram account -- and then took off running again. We can only hope he also threw in a wave and "Have a nice day," Forrest Gump-style.

Elizabeth and Ryan! Congrats and blessings! Hanx.

The actor is famously known for being one of the nicest guys in Hollywood. It's comforting that that reputation is very much well-earned. Thanx, Hanx.
