Life would be very different for Tom Holland if Spider-Man were never created, and the actor knows it.

Steve Ditko, Spider-Man's co-creator, recently died at 90, so Holland made sure to express his gratitude to the late comics artist and writer. The "Spider-Man: Homecoming" star wrote a touching tribute to Ditko via Twitter on July 8, and in it, he noted how much his life has changed, in part thanks to the Marvel alumnus.

"We all want to leave our mark on the world - this guy crushed it," Holland wrote. "He made so many people so happy and changed lives - most of all, mine! Thank you Steve - your life lives on man, thank you."

Holland's acting career had already kicked off before he was cast as the MCU's Peter Parker, but getting the part certainly brought it to another plane. As the actor put it in June 2017, his life was "flipped upside down" after he became Spider-Man.

Of course, as Holland acknowledges, he has others to thank, too, and it's sweet for him to recognize Ditko's lasting legacy.

The "Spider-Man: Far From Home" is due out July 5, 2018.
