'Trading Spaces' Is Being Revived by TLC
"Trading Spaces" is getting a renovation! TLC is reviving the home improvement series, which ran from 2000-2008.
Nancy Daniels, TLC's president and general manager, announced the news at the network's upfront presentation to advertisers. "I am excited to announce that TLC's most successful and most iconic series ... 'Trading Spaces' is coming back," she said.
The Discovery Communications networks seem to be on a bit of a revival tears; yesterday, Discovery announced it is bringing back the popular game show "Cash Cab."
"Trading Spaces" featured two sets of neighbors who redesigned a room in the other couple's home, with $1,000 and just 48 hours. The owners had no say in the redesign, and the show's trademark was the big reveal to each couple. Sometimes, the owners loved the outcome; sometimes, it left them in tears.
It's unclear if host Paige Davis would return, or any of the show's other (now more famous) personalities like Ty Pennington, Carter Oosterhouse, Vern Yip, and Genevieve Gorder.
The "Trading Spaces" revival is expected to debut sometime in 2018.
