TSA Bans Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge 'Thermal Detonator' Coke Bottles
If you head to Disneyland's Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, be aware that there is one souvenir you won't be able to take home.
The Transportation Security Administration has banned the “thermal detonator” Coca-Cola bottles sold exclusively at the theme park from checked and carry-on luggage on U.S. flights. The reason: They look like replica explosives.
The Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite bottles were designed to look like the grenades used by bounty hunters and stormtroopers in "Star Wars." In "Return of the Jedi," Leia threatens to blow up Jabba the Hutt’s barge with one.
The TSA Twitter account confirmed that the bottles are not allowed on planes:
But visitors to Galaxy's Edge can take home lightsaber souvenirs, since as the TSA says on its website, "Sadly, the technology doesn’t currently exist to create a real lightsaber."
