Wendy Williams is taking an extended break from her daytime talk show.

A statement from the Williams Hunter family posted to Twitter says that Williams is recovering from a fractured shoulder and has experienced complications from her Graves’ disease. That will require hospitalization and she will be taking time off "to focus on her personal and physical well-being."

Debmar-Mercury, distributor and producer of the show stated: "For over ten years, Wendy has been a vital part of the Debmar-Mercury family. We wholeheartedly support Wendy in this decision to take the time she needs and we will welcome her back with open arms the moment she is ready."

Per a January 5 announcement, she had been expected to return with new episodes on January 14. "After fracturing her shoulder, Wendy is on the mend and wants to return pain-free and be 200%, delivering the best show that millions of viewers tune-in to watch," read a statement posted to social media.

The show will air repeat episodes next week and will produce original episodes with a variety of hosts starting the week of January 28, according to a show spokesperson.

Last year, Williams' took a three-week hiatus after being diagnosed with Graves disease,  an immune system disorder that results in the overproduction of thyroid hormones.

In December, she apologized on Instagram for a "less than stellar show" after fans expressed concern that she appeared to be slurring her words. Williams said she had suffered “a hairline fracture on my upper arm, which hurts like hell,” and attributed the slurring to her pain medication.

"The Wendy Williams Show" is in its 10th season. It airs on Fox owned-and-operated stations and is syndicated nationwide by Debmar-Mercury.
